First Experience with Kagawa Pizza in Zaragoza
Last weekend, while wandering around downtown Zaragoza with friends, we stumbled upon a pizza place called “Kagawa.” To be honest, seeing a Japanese name paired with pizza was quite puzzling at first, but curiosity got the better of us and we decided to give it a try. The result truly exceeded expectations—this place combines Japanese ingredients with Italian pizza in a remarkably creative way.
The venue is small but cozy, with décor that blends Japanese elements and Mediterranean flair. We ordered their signature “Teriyaki Chicken Pizza” and “Wasabi Octopus Pizza.” The sweet and savory teriyaki sauce paired with melted cheese created exceptionally rich layers of flavor. I was initially worried the wasabi one might be too pungent, but Kagawa Pizza actually had just a subtle refreshing kick that paired perfectly with the octopus chunks.

Price and Value Analysis
Below is a comparison of several pizzas I’ve compiled:
| Pizza Type | Price | Recommendation | |
| Teriyaki Chicken | €12.50 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Wasabi Octopus | €14.00 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Miso Beef | €13.50 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Classic Margherita | €9.50 | ⭐⭐⭐ |
Compared to other pizza places in Zaragoza, Kagawa’s prices are moderate to slightly high, but considering the specialty ingredients and taste, I think it’s worth it. They have a buy-one-get-one-free promotion from Tuesday to Thursday, so budget-conscious friends can choose those days to visit.
Service and Atmosphere
The waitstaff had a good attitude. Although not everyone speaks English, as discussed in Kagawa’s height, basic ordering communication was no problem. Wait time was about 15 to 20 minutes, which isn’t too long. The place offers free WiFi with the password on the back of the menu. The only minor drawback is that dinner hours get quite crowded, so I recommend booking ahead or arriving early.
Finally, regarding their desserts, the matcha tiramisu was truly amazing. Although it’s a bit pricey at €5.50, it’s definitely worth trying. Overall, if you’re in Zaragoza wanting to try something different or interested in fusion cuisine, as mentioned in Kagawa Shinji Zaragoza, Kagawa Pizza is a great choice. Next time I plan to try their new miso bacon pizza, which I’ve heard is also excellent.
