After living in Zaragoza for nearly three years, I have gained a fairly deep understanding of the weather here. Many newcomers often ask me about the climate, so I wanted to write this post to share information about Zaragoza’s year-round weather conditions. I hope this will be helpful to everyone.
Spring: Mild but Windy
Spring in Zaragoza is actually quite pleasant, with temperatures gradually climbing from 10 degrees to over 20 degrees. However, one characteristic of the Zaragoza weather here is that the wind is particularly strong, especially in March and April. Locals call this wind Cierzo. Sometimes the wind is so strong that even walking becomes difficult, so I recommend preparing a windproof jacket. Starting in May, the weather becomes more pleasant and suitable for outdoor walks.

Summer: Hot and Dry
Summer is really hot, with temperatures in July and August frequently exceeding 35 degrees, sometimes even reaching 40 degrees. Fortunately, the [Zaragoza weather] is dry heat, not as humid as coastal cities. It’s best to avoid going out between noon and three or four in the afternoon, as the sun is truly intense. Evenings are much cooler, and many people prefer to go out at night. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential, and remember to drink plenty of water.
Summer Clothing Recommendations
During the day, short sleeves and shorts are fine, but indoor air conditioning is very strong, so I suggest bringing a light jacket. Evening temperature differences can sometimes reach 10 degrees, so long sleeves are still necessary.
Autumn: The Most Comfortable Season
Personally, I think autumn is the best season in Zaragoza. September is still a bit hot, but October and November are truly perfect, with temperatures between 15-25 degrees, neither cold nor hot. During this time, the wind also dies down considerably, and the weather is stable, making it ideal for outdoor activities. However, the temperature difference between morning and evening is quite large, short sleeves can be put away, and I recommend wearing long sleeves with a jacket.
Winter: Cold but Little Rain or Snow
Winter is quite cold, with temperatures generally between 0-10 degrees, and occasionally it snows but not much. The biggest characteristic of winter here is dry cold, with very low humidity, so skin tends to dry out easily - remember to use moisturizer. Down jackets, scarves, and gloves should all be prepared, but since indoor heating is generally available, the Zaragoza weather is manageable.
Below is a reference table of average temperatures for each month in Zaragoza:
| Month | Average High Temperature | Average Low Temperature | Rainfall |
| January | 10°C | 2°C | 20mm |
| April | 18°C | 8°C | 35mm |
| July | 31°C | 17°C | 15mm |
| October | 20°C | 10°C | 30mm |
Zaragoza has a typical continental climate with four distinct seasons and little rainfall. If you want to choose the best time to visit, I recommend late spring and autumn. For those living here, be prepared for sun protection in summer and warmth in winter - the rest of the time is quite comfortable. I hope this post helps those planning to come to Zaragoza!
