I’ve been following Zaragoza’s matches recently and noticed quite significant squad changes this season. As a long-time fan, I felt it necessary to organize the current squad list for everyone’s reference.
Goalkeeper Position
In terms of goalkeepers, the team currently has three keepers in the Zaragoza player roster. The starting goalkeeper is Cristian Álvarez, an experienced Argentine keeper who has performed quite steadily this season. Backup goalkeepers include Garrido and young Pérez, both actively competing for more playing time. Álvarez’s save success rate ranks among the top in Segunda División, which is crucial for the team’s defensive system.

Defensive Line Configuration
The defensive line is a key area of reinforcement for the team. At center-back, Javier Aguirre and Luna form the starting partnership, with their coordination improving continuously. For full-backs, the right side features Vilarrasa and Francho, while the left features Chavarría and new signing Martínez. Martínez’s arrival has brought more attacking options to the left flank, and his assist ability is indeed impressive.
| Position | Starting Players | Substitute Players |
| Goalkeeper | Álvarez | Garrido, Pérez |
| Center-back | Aguirre, Luna | Sánchez, Rodríguez |
| Full-back | Vilarrasa, Chavarría | Francho, Martínez |
Midfield Core
Midfield is Zaragoza’s strength. Defensive midfielders include Francho and Lasso, both excellent in interception and passing organization. In attacking midfield, Iván Azón is the team’s absolute core, with creativity and shooting ability at top Segunda División level. Additionally, there are quality players like Moro and Javier Puado providing rotation options.
Forward Line Combination
Up front, the team has multiple scorers. The main striker is Sergi Enrich, an experienced forward who has already scored 8 goals this season. Last season’s main striker has transferred away, but the new signings’ performances are equally satisfying. Substitute forwards include young Sarabia and on-loan Vázquez, both seeking opportunities to prove themselves.
Zaragoza’s squad depth this season is quite adequate, with decent backup options in every position. The team’s current position in Segunda División is fairly stable, and if they maintain this form, competing for promotion playoffs shouldn’t be a problem. What positions do you think the team still needs to strengthen? Discussion welcome.
