Just got back from Zaragoza and wanted to share the actual costs of this trip. As the capital of the Aragon region, Zaragoza’s prices are much more affordable compared to Madrid and Barcelona, but how much you’ll spend really depends on your travel style.
Accommodation Costs
I stayed in Zaragoza for 7 days, choosing a three-star hotel near the city center at 55 euros per night for a single room. If you’re on a tight budget, consider youth hostels where beds cost around 15-25 euros per night. For more comfort, four-star hotels range between 80-120 euros. My accommodation total came to 385 euros.

Dining Expenses
Zaragoza’s dining prices are very reasonable. Breakfast was usually at the hotel, but eating out costs about 3-5 euros for coffee and pastries. For lunch, I typically chose the Menu del día, which includes starter, main course, dessert, and drink for 12-18 euros. Dinner at restaurants costs around 20-30 euros per person for a good meal. Occasionally visiting tapas bars, ordering a few small plates with beer, costs about 15 euros and is very satisfying. Over the week, dining cost approximately 280 euros.
Transportation & Tickets
| Item | Cost (EUR) |
| City bus 10-trip ticket | 9.30 |
| Basilica of Our Lady of Pilar tower access | 3.00 |
| Aljafería Palace entrance | 5.00 |
| Airport to city center bus (round trip) | 3.80 |
| Other attractions | 8.00 |
Zaragoza’s public transportation is convenient, and a 10-trip ticket is sufficient. Most churches and museums have inexpensive admission, and some are even free. Transportation and tickets totaled about 50 euros.
Other Miscellaneous Expenses
Shopping and Souvenirs
While strolling through the El Tubo old town, I bought local specialties including olive oil, saffron, and handmade ceramics for around 60 euros. Additionally, I purchased some postcards and small souvenirs for 20 euros.
My week-long Zaragoza trip cost approximately 795 euros in total. If you’re budget-conscious, staying in hostels and eating more tapas, you can have a great time for 500-600 euros. Conversely, if you want luxury hotels and Michelin-starred restaurants for every meal, the budget has no ceiling. Zaragoza is truly a high-value travel destination, highly recommended for those with limited budgets who want to experience Spain in depth.
