Palma Car Rental: Clickrent Experience and Tips
Last month I vacationed in Mallorca and rented a car from Clickrent at Palma airport. I’d like to share my experience and some important points to note. Since I’ve seen people asking about car rentals in Palma on forums, I thought I’d create this post to discuss it.
Pricing and Booking
Clickrent’s prices in Palma are mid to upper range—not the cheapest but not expensive either. I booked two weeks in advance and rented a standard sedan for 5 days at around €180. I recommend booking in advance as much as possible, as on-site rentals are significantly more expensive. Their website interface is fairly clear, allowing you to directly compare prices for different car models.
Here’s a comparison of several car rental companies I looked at:
| Car Rental Company | Price | Basic Insurance Included |
| Clickrent | €180 | Yes |
| Goldcar | €165 | No |
| Europcar | €210 | Yes |
| Hertz | €245 | Yes |
Pickup Process
Picking up the car at Palma airport went fairly smoothly. Clickrent’s counter is on the right side of the terminal exit, easy to find. Staff speak English and Spanish, and their attitude is decent. You need to present your passport, driver’s license, credit card, and booking confirmation. Important reminder: the credit card must belong to the main driver, and must have sufficient credit limit for the deposit hold. I had a €600 deposit frozen at the time.

You need to carefully inspect the vehicle during the handover. Staff will walk you through checking the car body for scratches or dents, which will all be recorded on the handover form. My car was in decent overall condition, just a bit dusty. I originally wanted to request a cleaner one, but figured it wasn’t worth it since I’d only be using it for a few days. The tank was full, and you need to return it with a full tank—remember this point.
Insurance and Additional Fees
Clickrent’s basic package includes third-party liability insurance and collision damage waiver, but with a fairly high deductible. They’ll recommend purchasing full coverage, which reduces the deductible to zero, at around €15 per day. I didn’t buy full coverage because I felt the road conditions in Mallorca were pretty good, and being careful should be sufficient.
Additional fees to note:
- Additional driver: €5 per day
- GPS navigation: €8 per day
- Child seat: €6 per day
- One-way rental: charged based on distance, can be very expensive
Return Experience
Returning the car was also at the same airport location. I arrived two hours early, filled up the tank, and drove to the designated parking area. Staff checked the vehicle condition, and after confirming everything was fine, the process took about 10 minutes. The deposit was refunded to my credit card within 3 business days, which was reasonably fast.
Overall, Clickrent’s service in Palma is fairly reliable. The vehicle condition is acceptable, the process isn’t complicated, though the pricing isn’t particularly competitive. If you’re planning a Palma car rental road trip in Mallorca, this company is worth considering, but I’d suggest comparing quotes from other companies as well. Also remember to check if your credit card limit is sufficient, and Palma Europcar rental confirm your driver’s license validity.
Feel free to leave comments with any questions. I hope this sharing helps those planning to visit Palma.
