Facing rising international crude oil prices due to tensions in the Middle East, Spanish energy giant Repsol has officially confirmed the extension of its fuel discount until May 3. Repsol defines this move as a measure to stabilize the market, support consumers, and align with relevant government policies.

This is not the first time Repsol has launched such a program during periods of market turmoil. During the Ukraine crisis, the company was the first in the Spanish market to introduce fuel subsidies, becoming the first energy company at the time to take such action.

Discount Plan for Private Customers

For private customers, paying through Repsol’s digital payment app, Waylet, is key to receiving the discount. When refueling at any Repsol service station in Spain and paying with Waylet, customers can get a discount of up to 40 cents per litre. The exact discount amount will vary depending on the type of energy contracts (e.g., electricity, natural gas) the user has with Repsol.

The process to get the discount is very simple. Users just need to download the Waylet app, link a payment method, and choose to pay through the app when refueling.

Additional Discounts for Transport Professionals

The discount program also benefits professionals. Transport professionals and self-employed individuals holding a Repsol Solred professional card can receive an additional discount of 5 cents per litre on top of their existing benefits. This cumulative offer provides further cost reduction for professional users who rely heavily on fuel.

Waylet: Repsol’s Digital Ecosystem Service

As the core platform for this promotion, the Waylet app has become a crucial part of Repsol’s digital strategy. Currently, the app has over 10 million registered users. Beyond being a payment tool for refueling, Waylet’s functionality has expanded into a comprehensive service platform. It allows users to shop at convenience stores, charge electric vehicles, and pay for parking and car wash services. Furthermore, users can also use Waylet for payments at select online and offline partner merchants.
