The downside? It’s pricey, especially for frontline beach villas. It also gets very crowded and can be noisy with tourists in the summer. It’s ideal for those seeking a high-quality lifestyle, have a generous budget, and enjoy a vibrant social scene.
Mallorca
As the largest of the Balearic Islands, Mallorca’s beauty is undeniable, and it heavily influences Spanish villa prices. You’ll find dramatic cliffs, orchards, and tranquil sandy beaches—every view is postcard-worthy. The villas on the island often feature stunning designs and offer greater privacy. However, island life means higher transportation and living costs. Furthermore, prime properties are in high demand, particularly favored by German and Scandinavian buyers. I feel it’s best suited as a pure holiday retreat; if you’re after tranquility and natural scenery, this is the place to be.

Costa Blanca
This region, where Alicante is located, has been gaining popularity in recent years. Its biggest advantage is its value for money! With half the budget for a villa in Costa del Sol, you could potentially buy a larger and newer property here. The area is popular with British and Northern European retirees, contributing to a relaxed community atmosphere and influencing the local planning for a Spanish villa. While not as luxurious as Marbella, it has all the necessary amenities and several Blue Flag beaches. If you’re looking for a practical and peaceful lifestyle, Costa Blanca is an excellent choice.
