Choosing a school for my child has been quite a headache lately. After researching numerous private and semi-private schools in Madrid, it’s clear that each has its own pros and cons. I recently focused on the well-known Colegio Internacional Casvi, specifically its campus in Tres Cantos. Today, I’m sharing the information I’ve gathered and some personal thoughts, hoping it can be a useful reference for other parents in the middle of their school search.
School Overview
Casvi is a well-regarded educational group with several campuses in Madrid. We primarily looked at the one in Tres Cantos, located in the northern part of Madrid. It’s a private school that serves all age groups, from kindergarten through high school. Its biggest selling point is the complete IB curriculum, covering PYP, MYP, and DP. For families who want more overseas university options for their children in the future, like those offered by many [Spanish international schools], this is a major draw.
Curriculum and Languages
The school offers bilingual education, primarily in Spanish and English. According to their website and feedback from some current parents, the English immersion in the early years is quite effective, with many subjects taught in English. In the upper grades, students can also choose German or Chinese as a third foreign language. Looking at their curriculum, besides the standard academic subjects, they also offer a wide range of extracurriculars in sports and the arts, such as swimming, judo, music, and drama. It seems like a place where a child can achieve well-rounded development.

Tuition and Application
The cost is obviously a major concern with private schools. Casvi’s tuition is in the mid-to-high range for private schools in Madrid. The specific fees vary by grade level and are subject to slight adjustments each year, a common practice among Spanish international secondary schools. I’ve put together a rough guide to the tuition fees below. Keep in mind this is just the tuition and doesn’t include the registration fee, meals, school bus, books, and materials—not to mention other costs like [Spanish international secondary school uniforms].
| Grade Level | Approximate Monthly Tuition Range (€) |
| Preschool/Kindergarten (Infantil) | 600 - 750 |
| Primary (Primaria) | 750 - 850 |
| Secondary (ESO) | 850 - 950 |
| High School (Bachillerato) | 950 - 1100 |
The application process generally starts with filling out a form on their website to book a tour or an information session. The school then arranges an interview, mainly to discuss educational philosophies with the parents and have a brief chat with the child. Popular grade levels may have a waiting list. It feels like they place a strong emphasis on the family’s alignment with the IB educational philosophy. Overall, my impression of Casvi is that it’s an academically rigorous and well-established IB school. However, every child is different, and so is the right school for them. I highly recommend visiting the school in person to get a feel for the atmosphere. Are there any parents here with children currently attending Casvi? Feel free to share your real insider experiences!
