I’ve been looking at schools for my kid lately, and it’s been overwhelming. I’d heard rumors that the renowned RC International School was planning to come to Spain, but there was never any official confirmation. Well, today I came across a local news report, and it looks like it’s finally happening! They’re really opening a new campus in Madrid! The location has been announced: it’s in Soto de la Moraleja, a well-known affluent residential area and a prime school district in the north of Madrid!
Many of you are probably familiar with Soto de la Moraleja. It boasts a great environment, plenty of green space, and isn’t far from the city center. Crucially, it’s a hub for international schools, which guarantees an excellent academic atmosphere. For RCIS to choose this location, they must have invested heavily, clearly aiming to compete with the area’s other established, prestigious schools. It’s reported they’ve acquired a large plot of land to build a full K-12 campus, covering everything from nursery to high school. For families like mine with more than one child, this is a real blessing! No more running all over the city for school runs.
I did some digging on their not-yet-fully-launched official website and pulled some info for everyone’s reference. RCIS focuses on the British educational system, offering IGCSE and A-Level courses. One point that really appeals to me is their strong emphasis on ‘personalized education’ and ‘small class sizes.’ Many schools these days have 20-30 students per class, and the teachers are simply spread too thin. If they can truly deliver on small classes, the quality of education will be much more secure. As for the tuition fees… they probably won’t be cheap. Given the location and the investment, we should all be prepared for that.
