Having recently arrived in Spain, I’ve been asked for a bank statement for both my residency renewal and renting an apartment. My main bank is EVO Banco, and after some research, I’ve figured out how to get one. I’m sharing this guide for fellow EVO Banco users to help you save some time and effort.
At first, I was a bit confused because EVO Banco focuses on digital, paperless banking and doesn’t have an obvious ‘Print Statement’ button like traditional banks. However, the process is actually quite simple and can be done through both the mobile app and the web portal.
Two Ways to Get Your Bank Statement
Using the Mobile App
This is the method I recommend most, as you can do it anytime, anywhere:
- Open the EVO Banco app and log in to your account.
- On the main screen, tap on your ‘Cuenta Inteligente’.
- Once you’re on the account details page, find and tap the three-dot menu icon
... in the top right corner.
- From the pop-up menu, select ‘Extracto de cuenta’.
- Next, choose the date range you need for the statement.
- After confirming, the app will generate a PDF file. You can then directly send the EVO Banco statement via email, WhatsApp, or save it to your phone. This PDF is your official bank statement, complete with your personal information and the bank’s logo, making it a formal document.

Using the Web Portal (Banca Electrónica)
If you prefer using a computer or need more detailed filtering options, you can use the web portal:
- Visit the official EVO Banco website and log in to your online banking.
- Find ‘Cuentas’ in the left-hand menu or click directly on your account from the homepage.
- On the account details page, look for an option like ‘Buzón’ or ‘Correspondencia’. This is where the bank stores all your electronic documents, including monthly summaries, which can also serve as statements.
- If you need a statement for a specific period for procedures like getting a Spanish visa with EVO Banco, you can find filtering and exporting functions on the transaction details page. Look for an ‘Exportar’ button or a similar icon, which allows you to download the statement in PDF or Excel format.
FAQ & Important Notes
Here are some questions I encountered, which might be helpful to you:
| Question | Answer |
| Does the statement need an official bank stamp? | Usually, no. The PDF generated from the app or website includes the bank’s logo and official information, making it a legally valid document. Most institutions accept it for residency renewals, renting, and other purposes. |
| Is there an English language option? | Currently, the EVO Banco system only supports Spanish. However, the steps are straightforward. You can follow this guide and look up any unfamiliar terms. |
| How long of a period should the statement cover? | It depends on the purpose. Student residency renewals typically require the last 3-6 months. For loan applications or renting, landlords might ask for the last 3 months. It’s always best to confirm the required period with the entity requesting the statement beforehand. |
EVO Banco might seem unconventional, but its online document retrieval is incredibly convenient. I previously used a traditional bank where I had to go to a branch and wait in line, which was time-consuming and tedious. I hope this guide is helpful!
