This is probably the most well-known website, boasting the largest and most comprehensive collection of listings across all of Spain. Whether you’re in big cities like Madrid and Barcelona or in small towns and rural areas, you can generally find properties on it. Its app is also well-designed, with powerful filter functions that let you search by area, price, property type, and even whether there’s an elevator. However, precisely because it’s so popular, good listings get snapped up incredibly fast, and you might occasionally find outdated information or overly ‘enhanced’ photos.
2. Fotocasa
Fotocasa is Idealista’s main competitor, and it also has a substantial number of listings. I personally find Fotocasa’s interface a bit more modern, offering a pleasant browsing experience. Sometimes, when you can’t find what you’re looking for on Idealista, a quick browse here can lead to unexpected finds. While some of its listings overlap with Idealista’s, many are exclusive. I recommend checking both websites; don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
3. Habitaclia
This website primarily focuses on Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, and Andorra. If you’re looking for a flat in Barcelona or its surrounding cities, Habitaclia is an essential resource. It has a strong advantage in listings for these regions, with very detailed information. Although it was later acquired by Idealista, it still operates independently, and its property database seems to have its differences. If you’re in Barcelona, you should definitely check this one out
