Last May, I had the privilege of watching several matches at Madrid’s Caja Mágica stadium, and the overall experience was quite excellent. This event is one of the higher-level clay court Masters tournaments on the ATP tour, usually held from late April to early May, serving as an important warm-up event before Roland Garros.

Ticket Purchase Recommendations
Regarding ticket purchases, I recommend booking in advance on the official website, as on-site tickets are more expensive. Early round tickets are relatively affordable, and if you’re on a budget for the Madrid Masters, you can choose outer court tickets that allow you to watch multiple matches. Finals stage tickets are quite expensive, though the atmosphere is certainly better. Additionally, midweek matches have fewer crowds, offering a more comfortable viewing experience.
| Ticket Type | Price Range | Suitable For |
| Outer Court Pass | 25-50 EUR | Budget-conscious fans |
| Central Court Upper Level | 60-120 EUR | General audience |
| Central Court Lower Level | 150-300 EUR | Dedicated fans |
| Finals Tickets | 200-600 EUR | Premium experience |
Transportation is quite convenient, with metro Line L7 going directly to San Fermín-Orcasur station, followed by a ten-minute walk. If driving, the parking lot isn’t very large, so arriving early is recommended. There aren’t many dining options nearby, and food prices inside the venue are high but quality is acceptable. I usually bring some snacks and water.
The on-site atmosphere is truly fantastic. Spanish audiences are very enthusiastic, cheering at every spectacular shot. Completely different from Wimbledon’s quiet viewing culture, here at Murray’s Madrid Masters it feels more like watching a party. Evening matches under the lights have a special charm.
If you’re attending a tennis match for the first time, the Madrid Masters is an excellent choice. Clay court matches have a relatively slower pace, making tactics easier to follow, and Madrid’s weather in May is pleasant, comfortable even when sitting outdoors. The only thing to note is sun protection, as the midday sun can be quite strong.
