Just returned from the fashion show in Alicante last weekend, and I’m still immersed in that Mediterranean fashion atmosphere. This fashion show organized by Annie truly opened my eyes and completely transformed my perception of Spanish local fashion.
The event was held in a converted warehouse near Alicante’s port, and the venue choice was quite interesting. The industrial-style space combined with Mediterranean natural lighting, with olive tree pots and blue-and-white decorations placed on both sides of the runway, really captured the local character. The spring-summer collection featured lightweight and breathable fabrics, with the designer saying the inspiration came from Alicante’s coastline and the white walls and blue windows of the old town.

What impressed me most were those modern pieces incorporating traditional Spanish elements. The designer used lots of asymmetric cuts and streamlined designs that improved upon traditional ruffles, retaining the fluidity of flamenco dance skirts while being completely suitable for everyday wear. There was an off-white linen dress with a geometric cutout pattern on the back, reportedly inspired by the window lattices of Alicante’s Santa Barbara Castle.
Design Highlights and Price Range
The collection showcased this time was reasonably priced. Here’s information on several featured styles:
| Style Type | Price Range | Distinctive Elements |
| Dress Collection | €89 - €156 | Mediterranean colors, linen blend |
| Shirt Jackets | €65 - €120 | Asymmetric design, breathable fabrics |
| Accessories | €25 - €78 | Handwoven, local craftsmanship |
There was also a meet-and-greet with the designer. Annie herself was very approachable, without any pretense. She mentioned that 70% of the fabrics in this collection came from Spanish local suppliers, mainly textile factories in Valencia and Barcelona. She said she hopes the Alicante fashion show will help more people understand that Alicante isn’t just about beaches and castles—the creative industry here is thriving too.
Ticket Purchasing and Visit Recommendations
If you’re interested in this type of event, the next fashion show is expected to be held in mid-November, featuring the autumn-winter collection. Tickets can be purchased on the official website or at local cultural centers, with general admission around €15 and VIP seats at €35. I recommend booking tickets a week in advance—last time I bought mine at the last minute and could only get seats quite far back.
There’s also a small market on-site where you can directly purchase some of the showcased pieces, plus works from independent designers. Prices are higher than fast fashion brands in malls, but the quality and design sense are on a completely different level. I bought a handwoven belt that looks especially great with jeans, for only €45.
Overall, this experience was absolutely worthwhile. Not only did I see interesting designs, but I also met several local friends who share a passion for fashion. Cultural activities in Alicante are really becoming more and more diverse—living here feels like there’s something new to participate in every weekend. Have you been to similar fashion shows?
