Last month I spent a few days in Zaragoza for work and chose Hotel Alfonso. Overall, it offered decent value for money, so I’d like to share my actual experience.
Location and Transportation
The hotel is located near the city center, about a 15-minute walk to Plaza del Pilar. There are several supermarkets and restaurants nearby, making daily life quite convenient. A taxi from Delicias train station costs around 10 euros, so transportation is fairly accessible. However, note that the street where the hotel is located is quite narrow, so parking might be tricky if you’re driving.

Room Facilities
I booked a standard double room, approximately 20 square meters. Overall it was quite clean and tidy with all basic amenities. Air conditioning, TV, and free WiFi were all fine, with decent internet speed. The bathroom, though small, was adequate with stable hot water. The only aspect I found unsatisfactory was the average soundproofing - you could hear corridor noise at night, which affected sleep quality somewhat.
Here’s a checklist of room facilities I compiled:
| Facility | Available | Notes |
| Air Conditioning | Yes | Good cooling effect |
| Free WiFi | Yes | Speed around 30Mbps |
| TV | Yes | Limited channels |
| Hair Dryer | Yes | Average power |
| Slippers | No | Bring your own |
| Safe | Yes | In the wardrobe |
Service and Breakfast
Front desk staff were reasonably friendly, with basic English communication being no problem. I was initially worried about language barriers, but check-in went quite smoothly. The hotel offers luggage storage service for Zaragoza hotel rooms, so you can leave your bags at reception after checkout, which is very convenient.
Breakfast costs extra at 8 euros per person. I only tried it once - the variety wasn’t extensive, but basic items like bread, ham, cheese, and coffee were available. If you don’t want to eat at the hotel, there are several nearby cafés with similar pricing.
Overall Assessment
This hotel suits travelers who don’t have particularly high accommodation requirements but want to stay in a relatively central location. Prices range from about 60-80 euros per night, which is mid-range for Zaragoza. If you have high sleep quality requirements, considering Zaragoza hotel prices, you might need to look at other hotels with better soundproofing, such as Hotel Suizo Zaragoza. But if you just need a clean and comfortable place to stay, Hotel Alfonso is worth considering.
