Zaragoza Accommodation Experience
Last year, I spent three months in Zaragoza for work and stayed at four different hotels, which gave me a pretty good understanding of the accommodation situation in this city. Today I’m organizing my experience to provide some reference for everyone.
About Area Selection
Accommodation in Zaragoza is mainly concentrated in several areas. The Old Town is near the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, within walking distance of major attractions, though it can be a bit noisy at night. The Delicias area is close to the train station, convenient for transportation, with plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, and relatively affordable prices. If you’re driving, parking is relatively easier in the Centro area, though parking fees aren’t cheap.

Personally, I recommend the Delicias area for its great value and convenience to everywhere. The Old Town is suitable for first-time visitors who want to experience the historical atmosphere. Below is a comparison of Zaragoza hotel rooms across different price ranges:
| Hotel Type | Price Range | Recommended Area | Suitable For |
| Budget | 40-60 EUR | Delicias | Budget-conscious backpackers |
| Mid-range Chain | 60-90 EUR | Centro/Universidad | Business travelers or families |
| Boutique Hotel | 90-150 EUR | Casco Viejo | Experience-focused vacationers |
Booking Tips and Important Notes
Never book last-minute during holidays, especially during the Pilar Festival in October, when prices can double and many hotels are fully booked. I learned this the hard way on my first visit and ended up staying in the suburbs. During regular periods, booking a week in advance is sufficient. Both Booking and Airbnb work well, with similar prices.
Some hotels don’t include breakfast, but that’s not really a problem - you can easily find a café downstairs for Tostada with coffee for just 3-4 EUR, which is more economical than hotel breakfast. For parking, if your hotel doesn’t have a parking lot, you can use the Parkimeter app to find public parking spaces, which typically cost 1.5-2 EUR per hour in the city center. You can check Zaragoza hotel prices for reference, and for specific options like the Zaragoza Swiss Hotel, you can find detailed reviews.
One final reminder: if you’re coming in summer, make sure to confirm air conditioning availability - Zaragoza gets really hot in July and August, and it’s impossible to sleep without AC. In winter, heating is always adequate, so no worries there. Overall, accommodation quality in Zaragoza is quite consistent, with low chances of disappointment.
